I am often asked : If I am not going to breed my cat then why does quality or bloodlines matter? Quality and bloodlines often reflect the cats overall health for the rest of its life. Also, just like humans, animals have genetic conditions that they can receive from their parents. A responsible breeder will test for what they can, research the ancestors and make sure the animals being bred are as healthy as can be. The saying " you get what you pay for" is usually true. Although some breeders do charge premium prices for poor quality cats. Do your research and ask a lot of questions. I welcome you to come to my home and meet me. The nursery and other areas designated as clean spaces for my animals are off limits though for disease prevention.
